Mezzo Mestizo's appearance at the St. Julien Hotel this evening (Wednesday, 11/9) has been canceled. Sorry for any inconvenience!
The name change is official, we are now Mezzo Mestizo! If you don't believe us, just check out the fancy banner at the top of the page. Banners ALWAYS make things official.
We've cooked up a little homemade CD that we'll be giving away on Thursday night only. It includes CD-quality versions of the songs we've posted on our YouTube channel (including Jon's Valentine's Day song, and some others Jon forgot to upload) plus a few other home recordings that won't be released again. We're only burning around 30 copies, so get there early and snatch one quick! Music starts at 5pm.
You know we love beer, and Boulder Beer is one of our faves. We don't venture out from our usual hotel gig all that often, so this will be the best time to see Mestizo all summer! We'll be on the Boulder Beer patio until 9pm.
Thank you so much to everyone that voted in the Fresh Cuts Challenge! We put up a good race, but in the end, The Living Rooms came out on top, with Mestizo as runner-up. The number of votes was much higher than anticipated, and we can't express how thankful we are for the turnout. Thank you 1000 times!!
The contest has been a great opportunity for us. UI Sound Studios liked us enough to offer some studio time at cost, which we quickly accepted. We've already had another studio session, and we're happy to announce that we'll be releasing a new EP later this year! All thanks to you and your votes!
Every time we're in the studio we end up improvising some new percussion instruments. Here's our new favorite:
Mark brought a carload of drums and we ended up banging on a guitar case. That's just how we roll.

Welcome to the fanciest and schmanciest website that Mestizo has ever had! It was almost a little too fancy for us, so we had to go with an old school "8-bit" theme to get back into our comfort zone. Along with a fancy new website, Mestizo has also recently acquired:
- An awesome new recording toy to share more music with you
- A new camcorder to give you a view into our mysterious beer-fueled rehearsals and recording sessions
- A tractor!
We didn't really get a tractor. And we only borrowed a camcorder. But we hope you like the new website!
